James Piecowye thinking out loud

Ideas, inspiration and a bit of random.

Better use of time!

The problem with social media is that is can and will be all consuming if you allow it to be.

The problem with the Internet in general is there is simply so much out there how do you know where to start looking for information, ideas and just stuff?

The usual approach is to go to your favorite old media sites and those other sites that you have used and that point you in a direction that might be of interest.

I like many do just that, go to a few sites that, for the most part point me in the direction of resources I might find interesting.

I like many look for a clearinghouse of ideas, check around in the smaller environment and pick and chose what I might find interesting.

Selection is the name of the game and this is made easier if you can use trusted resources to get you rolling.

For blog sites that have a general theme of business, excellence, and ideas I almost always visit TOM PETERS, he has a great blog roll.

For the scoop on technology I usually start with Robin Good, just a great roundup of social networking ideas.

Success online really comes from getting on a path that allows you to advance and not get bogged down with the frivolous.
