Ideas, inspiration and a bit of random.

What is the best advice you can give to anyone who is looking at a career or job or change of career?

Love what you do!

We spend a lot of time drilling into students that this or that is a great career and really how do you know?

All of my students do an internship and I always say to them that you have to pick a site based on your likes and dislikes NOT on what other students have done.

Again you have to love what you do.

And as fate would have it the things you love are the things you are best at.

But don’t confuse loving a job or career with it being easy, nothing is ever easy.

But if you love a field at least you won’t mind putting in the hours it takes to be a master and to find success.

On that note here is a great example of loving what you do.

I think every student should watch a video like that you just saw of John Daley—chef and co-owner of the newly opened New York Sushi Ko on the Lower East Side of New York City.

The lesson again love what you do, do what you love!
