Speed and Change

I remember a couple of years ago sitting around a table with several colleagues looking over a budget for video and audio equipment.

The numbers being tossed about, at the time, to keep current and have the top of the line video and audio recording and production capability was staggering.

Not that we don’t need a brick and mortar studio with all the equipment, we do, but the possibility exists today to create fantastic video and audio using mobile media.

Instagram may be the instant reporters best friend!

Check out what is possible with a Samsung Galaxy Note2.

But what I am really proud of is what can be done with an XLR microphone adaptor and Samsung Galaxy Note2.

Last weekend I was at the World Flowboarding Championships 2013 and realized it was a bonanza of content.

Armed with my phone and a good mic I was able to produce some great broadcast quality content.

So, what do our students need to create great audio and video content?

Skills to use a variety of tools including those they carry around with them.

Oh and the training on how to see and hear a story and of course how to get the great interview.

More to come…
