Education on the fly

What a waste!

How many conferences take place in major city in a year?

In Dubai there are easily over 100, really.

Now imagine how much content is being generated that has some application to lessons taking place in classrooms.

I am not for a moment suggesting that students make field trips to all these conferences.

But what if content was collected and then put into context and made available to educators?

Well I am experimenting with this in my own little way.

Step one is to see how easy content can be collected.

I was at the 2nd GCC Government Social Media Summit and was able to collect audio and notes on an iPad using the Recordium app.

The biggest challenge is getting to the conference to collect the audio.

Once you have it it can easily be edited I used Audacity.

Finally the content needs to be distributed.

I have a program on DubaiEye 103.8 fm so I have an easy way to distribute the content to the nation.

But what about a way to podcast?

I use podomatic for podcasting, it is an easy service to master and it gets you into iTunes easy.

This is what I ended up with from my 1st attempt at creating education friendly conference content.

The question is do educators or the public really want to listen to this content even if it is made available?
