Do the shirts matter?

Posted on | November 18, 2009 | No Comments

Last night I had a very interesting conversation with Razan Masri, she is behind the shirt sensation Camiceria Design in Dubai!

The idea is to give men a shirt with personality beyond a piece of driftwood.

But do men really want to dress with personality?

And does dressing in shirts that accent a man’s personality send the right message to the business community?

Razan thinks so!

A conversation about a man and his shirt.

But here is the funny thing. Do men know enough about fashion and the language of cloths and the very art of textile storytelling to get it right?

Sure many men have been and are great designers BUT the vast majority of men seem to be lost!

Take Razan for example, she is making shirts for her husband! She brought the idea to life.

And the only people who responded to the discussion I had with Razan were women defending men and their fashion choices!

I think men are fashion impaired and I say this as a man.

Today I was at a conference and 5 was the only guy with a bit of style and colour in his cloths and unless the others at the conference were lifeless the only person who was wearing his personality!

Cloths tell as much a story about us as what we say and do, yet this seems to be a forgotten aspect of the communication package.
