Do not underestimate the power of radio!

Three nights ago on Nightline DubaiEye we had an hour long discussion about Gaza.

It was a brazen move considering my producer was not in the studio, there is no time delay on the broadcast and we were taking callers live to air!

Brazen or foolish.

You can listen to the show to get a feel for what we did, it was in hour 2 of the podcast.

As a result of my programming and that of other shows I was informed that speaking about the Gaza was not to occur, except in the news bulletins.

Radio has power?

Last night my Wednesday co-host Mishal Kanoo, an opinion leader in the United Arab Emirates, arrived for our weekly romp through sundry ideas.

At 7:55pm, 5 minutes before the show, Mishal left the studio because he felt that he could not go on air without commenting on the ongoing horror and double standards that are being perpetuated by world leaders, global business and global citizenry alike.

The power of radio!

Free, easy, portable and penetrating are 4 words to describe radio.

And radio is power… Mishal has hit that point home and none of us should forget that this little thing called radio can and does have amazing potential depending upon how it is used.

Radio turn it on and think about the power being exercised!
