Make Education Worth the Time

Education/tribes at work?

Posted on | January 22, 2009 | No Comments

My greatest concern about education has always been that is is disconnected from the reality we live in.

What if we could take the essence of education, the essence of Tribes by Seth Godin and the best of Re-Imagine by Tome Peters and mix it all up?

Nadeem Suleiman a 15 year old student at Uptown High School in Dubai has done just that.

Nadeem has started a cause to see the implementation of secondary education at an orphanage in Malawi.

Imagine if every student around the world mobilised or joined a group that was seeking to change the way we do everything?

There is a body doing this, TED.

Nadeem is demonstrating that little ideas can lead to big change and they can be championed by anyone, the essence of a tribe!

Listen to Nadeem talking about his idea to bring education to African orphans.
