The power of one day vacations.

If you are like me you are finding more and more of your time being consumed by the state of the environment we live in (economics, politics, media, education, social issues, family…).
As I try to deal with the things I can have an impact upon, and sometimes those I cannot, I am constantly reminded that we do need to have some downtime.
Downtime? 24 hours where you turn off the phone and do not look for a computer and just act like a kid!
Kids are concerned with what? Fun, food and fun.
I am a huge advocate of the 24 hour vacation!
When was the last time you went to a hotel in the town you live in?
Yes go to a hotel, eat there, use the pool, watch TV and maybe even order food to the room!
This does not have to be a huge costly event, if you check around there are often deals at hotels.
We went to the Atlantis Resort in Dubai on a grand opening package and spent the day we arrived and the day we departed at the water park.
Late check-out can for a modest fee or no fee at all make a short stay a seemingly long one!
As we were heading home, 23 hours of total vacation, we all commented on how much fun we had and how it felt like more than an overnight!
There is something about being around others on vacation and living like a tourist that has a way of re-focusing our thought process.
Think about a one day vacation the next time you need to re-boot your disposition!
