Scouting 2009 a need!

I love education and hate the way we are doing it from the ground up!
Yet, I persist in my own humble way to try and at the least change the way the next generation of parents are going to think about how their children are educated and what they are educated about.
One of the greatest education tools I have ever been part of is the scouting movement.
Amazing really, a group of volunteers with diverse backgrounds all coming together to engage in activities that really do add context to the daily education we are dispensed. And for the most part it costs almost nothing, in Dubai you are looking at 750 dirhams—under 200 dollars American!
Funny isn’t it? Volunteers educating youth and helping them to understand the core values that we trust our leaders will always have in their eyes as they make any decisions!
Schools just don’t have the time between technology, spelling, math, PE and music lessons to get down to the practical skills of honesty, loyalty and selflessness.
Sure our schools try to be everything for everyone but I really think they fail because they try to do too much.
I wonder how many of our failed leaders were never in the scouting movement?
Hmmm… that is food for thought!
