| Train, share values, share information, and invite “outsiders” to participate in everything.
–Tom Peters
I like Tom Peters. If you have not looked at his blog/website you are missing out on a huge source of inspiration and useful leads. I have been using Re-Imagine as a course text for my intro to communication classes for 2 years now. We use the ideas and the context of many of Tom’s ideas as the movement point for thinking about how we create a story that communicates what we want it to say. The point though is why don’t we see more business/communication/education/IT/humanities course linkages? I teach in a communication college yet what I am teaching is often easily business 101. Hmmm once again the question has to be how well are we serving students by putting our courses into silos and not actively forcing different disciplines to work together in producing content that is meaningful today, tomorrow and yesterday. Once again food for thought from the world of business and Tom Peters. |
