Education from everyday experiences.

Education as Entertainment.

I am starting to think that the problem I am facing as a teacher is my absolute inability to keep the content and delivery of my classes in tune with the education environment my students are living in!

You might say we educate to be educated and HOW we do that, lecture, exam, grade has worked forever so why mess with it?

And in fact even by suggesting we educate to outcomes we are really not doing much more than adding a new coat of paint to the old house!

But blogging, YouTube, Online resources such as we find from the BBC, mobile phones, PSP’s… the list of distractions that take the shape of entertainment are making me wonder why I am not doing more to join the entertainment as opposed to fighting it?

How do we do that? Radical re-think of space, time, content and delivery.

The problem is I have met 3 people who are actually  thinking in the same direction as me!

So either I am off my rocker or well ahead of the wave!
