The Power of Talk.

Posted on | September 25, 2008 | No Comments

All too often we seem t forget that every time we open our mouths and breath a word there is going to be an effect! Maybe a person will get mad, maybe they will become sad, they are certain to become informed.

The spoken word is powerful and we each do ourselves a dis-service by not ensuring that we have the necessary skills to craft, communicate and re-communicate the most effective message possible.

On a side note I saw a great article in BoingBoingand it made me think that a variation of this could be done with communication skills in a coffee shop or at a mall or maybe in a free zone!  Why not?

The point being that communication can and does play a huge role in our lives and we underestimate the effect it can have on others, especially if it is done right.

Four nights a week I command the airwaves of Dubai Eye 103.8 FM and try to get people to talk, think and listen.  I underestimate on a daily basis the power of this exercise. Last night we had a complaint that really put it all into perspecticve, give it a listen! The saudi guy complaint!

We really do command power when we speak we really do need to pay attention to what we say and how we say it!
